This is Catesby Jones! I met him in Southport at a songwriter’s festival and got to perform along side him, us both doing solo stuff. He, his songs, and guitar playing knocked me out. He has quite a history-being a Nashville staff song writer for a number of years-and having success with a number one Travis Tritt hit entitled “Country Club”, which is coincidentally in the recent movie “The Mule”. Fast forward to now. Catesby is one of those songwriters that goes to work writing songs every day. He writes maybe 3 or 4 keepers every month. This song “We Hate Everyone” was introduced to me this last summer at a songwriter’s open-mic night I hosted in Southport. It knocked me and the rest of the crowd out! A very timely song…..At the end of the night I said “we have to cut this!” Here it is. We are just getting started on a complete new cd for him–so stay tuned..
